I participated in the Ornatus Floral Academy class: Become A Certified Floral Designer, February, 2026. This floral design class offered a rich and supportive learning environment designed for all levels of knowledge, accommodating beginners to more experienced students. The instructor, Alejandro Figueira, utilized AIFD building blocks by integrating the elements and principles of floral design into hands-on design applications. I had initial feelings of being overwhelmed due to the extensive AIFD terminology and techniques. However, the structured approach helped in breaking down the information into manageable parts. The emphasis on application allowed for immediate implementation of learned concepts.
The instructor’s guidance and critiques of student designs was one of the best features of the class providing critical feedback and corrections to design flaws. The small class size also facilitated a supportive network for collaboration and feedback among classmates.
I gained fundamental knowledge of floral design in this class through the guided hands-on instruction from Alejandro Figueira, an internationally recognized floral design expert and leader. With this class experience, I have a renewed sense of confidence allowing for greater expression of my creativity to flourish through the design process. This class was an amazing experience that far exceeded my expectations.

If I could give the school 10 stars I would. Alejandro is the best teacher I've ever had in my life. I spent 7 years between college and a doctorate and this is the first time in my life the lessons in school actually translate to real life. The flower selection was great and the course could not have been more comprehensive. The environment is impeccably clean, lunch is included which is a nice perk and the instruction was seamless.
I recently attended Ornatus Floral Academy to become a Certified Floral Designer. As a beginner, I was not sure what to expect. Our class size was small and we received so much support from our wonderful instructor Alejandro. He made certain everyone in the class completely understood all the Elements and Principles of Floral Design. He taught us many techniques as we created beautiful floral arrangements. Each arrangement we created gave us the knowledge and confidence to keep improving our new skills.
